John, I've been a fan of yours since the 'The Regiment' books and your own experience drives home to me the frailty of life, even more than anything written in your books. I don't know what else to say, as I consider you dear to my heart through your books, and all I can bring myself to do is to wish you well, as I don't wish to appear shallow. I only wish I had opportunities to meet you but as with many heroes of one's life, that isn't always possible - time, money, distance, commitments. Still, in a way I do that everytime I re-read my favourite sci-fi novels from John Dalmas... god bless you, John.
